Today in science mr. d was telling us how in the human body every cell has 23 chromosome doubles, except for one kind of cell in a boy and one kind of cell in a girl: you guessed it, the sex cells. And the next sentence out of his mouth is "now it's interesting in evolution-" I stopped listening there. After all, how on earth was he going to explain that one??? That we just HAPPENED to be perfectly able to bond and create babies? How babies had that same chromosome balance??? my BUTT.

Callback lists got posted today- or at least, two of them did. Matt and Nathan Otey's. David didn't make it...that puzzles me. he was amazing. AJ made both, haha.

What else is going on in my life?

Well...
Katie's worried about Mo's eating habits.
Mo insists she's perfectly fine, and continues defending her eating habits.
Hannah's phone is either broken, she's avoiding me, OR she's uncannily busy every time I call....lol
Kelsey still remains near us all, yet it seems there's a rift, as she repeatedly claims to hate thomas and myself...again, lol
Olive hasn't been around much- i mean, around ME in particular. She's still nearby, but I miss her predictible cynicism.
Mollie shared her eulogy today, which was both entertaining and SPEEDY. She did a stellar job.
Thomas is "addicted to 'H'" in his monologue. Still as frisky as ever in real life of course.
AJ is really excited for callbacks. That's fun.
David and I have the most amazing "handshake" ever. You guy's'd love it...I think :)

Wellness Day is tomorrow- yippie-ki-ay. Let's hope it's fun...and I'm actually in some sessions with my friends. Due to a college visit, I wasn't able to pick the same workshops as them, as far as I know. All I remember is I put "theatre games" first. haha. I wonder who's running that. Somehow even CAD sounds more fun than wellness day. I mean, it's like, "health!" ew

I built a tire swing today! Over by my house some of you have been to where there used to be a little rope swing tied to a stick over a ditch. Well today, it got an upgrade!!! It's really cool and I swang there for like 20 minutes in circles! I'm still a little woozy...

I suppose that's about it...hopefully I'll see y'all in the morning!
Good
Night
God
Bless

I disagree with you about the evolution thing. I think life is a miracle, but then again, 4 odd billion years is a pretty long time for everything to be refined. If God made us, then why do we have so many imperfections, like cancer or whatever? Why would he have left those in? And how do you explain the genetic similarities between different species, like apes and humans, and then explain the fossils that have been discovered? (Homo Habilis, Australopithecus, etc.)

(I think this is the third time I've argued about this topic on the blogs today - please know, I'm not some christian-hating atheist or something! Honestly! Life really is a miracle, and I can't explain it, nor can I explain how the universe started - I'm not all-knowing. I'm just skeptical of some of the explanations I get from the Bible. Sometimes I don't think we even should have an explanation for everything.)

Katie: The afflict and torment clause. It sucks, but it's true that we cannot learn and better ourselves without trials/afflict/torment/temptation/etc. And there's freaking similarity between bugs and us, that says enough. It's not necessarily our bodies' DNA that makes them special, but that a spirit of a child of God lives in the body. And everything will make sense eventually. Gospel and Science will go together and all will be in perfect harmony.

That's a nice idea, but saying "everything will make sense eventually" doesn't really answer the question. Because short of killing myself, that's not really going to give me any answers (and even then, I'm not sure). How else can you prove your point? I think the evolutionists have given me pretty concrete evidence to support their argument - science just follows logic most of the time. Now I want to know your concrete evidence. And please don't say faith - again, a nice idea, but I can't just believe something because someone tells me to without telling me why.

List your questions, cause right now I'm not even sure what you want to know! lol

There are gaps in evolution, too. People have never found the "missing link," have they?

My idea of concrete proof here is different than yours. I consider that everything works so well together proof. Look at when we're sick! Our bodies know exactly what to do; they shut us down and go fight the infection. It's perfect! This cannot be without Divine creation.

Do you believe in chance, luck, or coincidence?

Roo said...

Chance - sure. With inconsequential things.

Luck - luck is another word for being blessed.

Coincidence - nope. Divine intervention/inspiration.

Does everything have a purpose, then?

oh kenz, you know i don't hate you. why would i? i love you to death - you're my one and only love duckling. i'm mad at thomas for his horrible, unspeakable, defacing of poor innocent McRilley. *shudder*.
