Okay, you can all shoot me...

Okay, so I realize I definately haven't updated since August 7th. You may now use me for target practice. Anywho, THE STATE OF THINGS:

Gillian: OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this play! So much! Ah! And you guys are prolly gonna come see it and say, "Gosh Kat, what were you so excited about? You guys aren't that good, this isn't that sweet/funny/touching/whatever, and you sure didn't make your audience cry. So I prolly totally flipping out for nothing! But still! We're having such an amazing time.

YAGMCB: OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO worried about this play! We shall die. In front of theatre critics. We are so unprepared right now, it makes me want to hyperventilate just thinking about it. But other that that, it's all good :). Tom attacked music stands for 90 minutes in the dressing room the other day. That was interesting...

Saturday: I am...randomly going horseback riding! With an archaeologist who speaks 11 languages, who's married to a virtuoso violinist. Huh. I have a weird life.

Tomorrow: I get 7th period off, since I won't have my kindergarteners! Hippen, we should hang out w/ Livvy, if you're not busy.

So that's pretty much it for now. Life is good.

Movie Night!

So last night, we had a movie at Moriah's house and it was AMAZING! We, being music geeks, sat next to the piano and sang songs all night long. I got the right hand and Roo got the left, and it was pretty dang awesome. Then we watched Spirited Away, which is absolutely hilarious when you watch it w/ friends. If you guys haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

Brian Dump

Homecoming was saturday. And amazing :P Haha. Well, this whole weekend was. From Santiago's to a sleepover with Hannah and watching Accepted, to chilling with Jacob and Tom, to nearly gagging on the table when Tom told us he had to "go call heaven and see if he could spend time with one of their angels," to the homecoming game (which I totally watched like, less than a minute of total), to walking to Sonic late at night, to getting ready at Karianne's with her and Elena, to rushing home and getting ready all that we failed to get ready at her house haha, to pictures here, and then at Thomas', to dinner at Red Robin with Evan Mortal Combat Santo Ricardo Esteban Charles the Third the waiter, to the actual dance, to AJ's, to Hannah Ferwerda's, and then back home to my new park... It was busy but I loved it.

And life is returning to somewhat of a normal order. Quieter, and perhaps more contemplative. I like it. It's nice to have a park again. Just somewhere to go to, a place where I don't have the benefits of home. Just a place where it's me, nature, and the passers-by. I don't know them, and they don't know me, and that's the way I like it. Being alone for me has been something to learn, like an acquired taste. But I think I'm getting the hang of it.

"I have this dream, where I wake up, and I just wander around the house all day, crying because of how my life turned out. And then I wake up, and you know what I do? I just wander around the house all day, crying because of how my life turned out."

Do I Have an Eating Disorder?

Seriously, sometimes I feel like I have an eating disorder or something. Like not anorexia or bulimia or anything like that, but that thing where you just have to keep on eating. Is it just me, or do you guys have to eat at least once every 2-3 hours in order to function properly? I feel like I have to eat even if I'm not actually hungry. It's weird. Thank God for Moriah and her daily lunchbox. I think I would die if I didn't have her in my 5th period class...

So... Blegh.

Recently I've felt very... blegh. Unmotivated. As in, I have no real reason to get up or do anything, really. Every day is just a variation on the same: Seminary, school, homework, practicing, bed. It all just seems so useless. Vain repetitions. Argh. I'm going to go make myself some hot chocolate.

I found this in my archives...

It's from '07 i think.

Karianne's...

So I went to Karianne's last night...and it was so amazing!!!
AH!!!
So I got there first and Karianne and I just talked and sat in this tree across the street from her house and laughed...and then Jacob, and David, and Tom got there! So they saw us and came over and then tried to get Karianne out of the tree, which meant alot of screaming, which was really funny. And then we went in her house and David and Tom faced off at Guitar Hero for a little while. And then Hannah Ferwerda came, and then Laura Eddington (who is feeling better, which is really good). And then after that we had dinner (a taco bar, and apple juice in these awesome little round bottles!) and then we jumped on the tramp for a little while...and then we went downstairs and talked, and then we went to this park, which has the BEST ROLLING DOWN HILL EVER!!! So we rolled down that for like ever, and then it got dark so we stood around and talked, and then we walked back, and watched the Office. Oh, and Thomas and Kelsey came while we were walking back from the park. So then Thomas ran in and told us that it was raining cats and dogs, and so a few of us went out and jumped on the tramp again. AND IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!!! And then we came back in and played apples to apples.

But it was suuuuuuch a fun night. Like right out of a dream. AH!

Girl Porn?

So there's this concept of female pornography: in the form of romance novels and chick flicks, girls are being presented again and again with this image of the perfect guy. He's cute, romantic, and when he blunders (rarely), he makes up for it a million times by doing something that, let's face it, just isn't realistic. So some consider that if you take these things in large doses, that if you feed off them, it will in the end be detrimental. Did anyone catch that?

And it strikes me, almost every original disney classic is like a perfect example of this. In one Walt Disney tribute on youtube, you will see an average of four to five good looking romantic guys literally pick up a girl and carry her away with a kiss. I love Disney movies, I think they're great. But...I don't know. I was just sort of sitting here thinking about his.

On another note, have any of you ever heard of someone named Ben Kweller? Or the song "Sundress"? Good song. Good song.

HPYS Rehearsal!

So, tonight was my 2nd rehearsal of HPYS (High Plains Youth Symphony, for ya'll that don't talk to me a lot) and it was pretty fun! We got our chair audition results and I'm 5th chair in the 2nds, which I'm pretty happy about. My stand partner is Molly Putnam's really good friends and she has weird translucent braces and freakily perfect hair.

Mindy's stand partner is this really cute Asian dude (I know! It sounds impossible. But I swear, he was super cute.... Thought Mindy might disagree) and he plucks his strings really strangely - he does pizzicato with his thumb. I've never seen anyone do that. Over half of the people in the first stand (for you non-orchestra ppl, this means they're one of the best 2 players in their section) are either Asian or half-Asian. And the other half is German. No joke. Our symphony is made up of former Nazis. Which is amusing, because I'm pretty sure our concert mistress is Jewish. (the concert mistress/master is the best violinist in the orchestra)

So I played violin for 2 hours and ate a lot of grapes. That's what I did tonight.

Murder Mystery!

So the annual Murder Mystery of my youth group was last night. And it was a total blast!
It took about an hour and 45 minutes for everyone to eat, which meant for some really corny jokes, which I totally loved. Then the real party began! I ended up figuring it all out, but not until after the game had been called. However, Kacey's team won! So they got starbucks. And then some other team, and then Blake Bucknam's. But it was really fun, especially haggling, bartering, and bribing the staff- I mean, suspects.
And as always, Colleen's house (mansion, really) was amazingly beautiful. They'd planted a ton of new big rose bushes around the outside fountain, and the hot tub was all lit up...it was awesome.
This Wednesday will be the second WNT of the semester, and you should all totally come! It starts at 7, but feel free to come over to David's (that's where it's held) anytime between 5:30 and then. We eat dinner (if you come around 5:30), and play games, and eat brownies, and talk, and play games, and! It's just so much fun. And you should all totally come!
At the northern most home group, that my friend Elliot is in, their head staff is this totally cool guy named Ben Hauser. So last week they played this game, where you roll the die, and if you roll a 1, you have to squirt a lemon towards your face and hope you don't get it in your eye. OW!!! Oh my gosh, wow, I almost start like, bleeding just thinking about how much that would hurt. Be glad you guys aren't home schooled in north boulder! Except they did play another game that I think would be fun. Ben rolled like 10 dice at once and whoever could add them all up correctly first got to punch everyone else. Haha. That's hilarious.
But I can understand how most of you don't quite agree with me. Just like no body really agreed with Gary this morning when he said that he eats out of obligation. Are you kidding me??? I EAT OUT OF PASSION! Haha.

PS: like, NO ONE is updating. You're all lards.

Love
y'all

Wow...

Wow. I've been gone for a while. Sorry about that. Just really haven't had anything to blog about.

Well, I'm learning about modern music. So far I'm pretty nuts about Yellowcard, Panic at the Disco, Coldplay and the Hush Sound. Yup...

That's really it. I'll think of something to write soon, I'm sure.

Quizas.
