Dateable

Yes, I read it. In pretty much one sitting. It hurt a little. Haha.
Anyways, time for my review! It was a good book. Mrs. Freeman would probably attempt to burn it due to the utter and complete lack of feminism, but seriously, guys and girls are different. This is a GOOD thing. And the book recognized that and talked alot about the different roles of the different sexes in relationships. No, not like the woman stays home and sweeps! Like, the dude should stand up and be a man already! (I'm not kidding, this was the title of one of the chapters.) However, it did paint one picture a little too extreme: it made me feel like I was totally in the wrong for having some of my best friends be guys. It annoyed me when it told me even if I didn't like them or they didn't like me, it was a total heinous crime for me to call them. So I disagreed with some things, but for the most part the book was really good. I liked how it focused on making dating just like a fun thing to do, not like some huge foreboding...I don't know, but whatever. It was a good book. A little weird and a little...mm, I don't know...like....well, it was kind of like there's no room for error or different situations. The author apparently is ALWAYS RIGHT. He gave you no choice, and kind of made you feel like your opinion could be worth less than crap at a few parts- Okay, that makes it sound really bad, but it's not. It was a good book, and there's definitely some principles I'll be putting into practice. I say read it for yourself. :)

Packing Boxes

Packing things in boxes may be one of the worst feelings ever, I think. I mean, all this stuff, that you love and enjoy and have for a reason, and then you cover it up, and you may not really know when you'll see it again, and then you take out the permanent marker and label it...the permanent marker just makes packing boxes feel so final, like there it goes. Or something. And it's so weird seeing the stuff get buried by the cardboard like that...it's almost like something died, and all feelings are removed, but you still have the task of dealing with what left behind, so you just pack it up and box it away... Packing things in boxes may be one of the worst feelings ever, I think.

*Sentimental Moment* AW

All this stuff I keep finding reminds me of last year. I'm listening right now to the CD Nichole gave me- the one I listened to ALL the time last summer, filled with songs I learned on the way back from Kansas...And the other night when I was going through old notes, I found ones from the day before Chataqua, the day before NOGG...all sorts of stuff like that. And it's just like, AW. I hope this summer is just as good.

Funny Quote, courtesy of Randall:

"My theory is that all humans are inherantly good from ages 0-3, evil 4-7, good 8-12, evil 13-17, good 18-23, evil 24, good 26-57, evil 58-death."

I think that's possibly the most accurate generalization that I've seen in a long while.

Okay, feel free not to do this, but go to the "random thoughts" link on the friend's blog's roll. Yes, it's the one that hasn't been updated for six months. But read just the first post! And then tell me what you think. Love ya! ~Kenzer Lou

Quotes

These quotes are really sorta sad and mean, but they still made me laugh. I think they're a compilation of the things ppl have said on IM...

"A mind is a terrible thing to waste; I'm glad they didn't waste on you."

"Do you still love nature, despite what it did to you?"

"If I seem to give a damn, please tell me. I would hate to be giving the wrong impression."

"Every cloud has a silver lining (except for the mushroom shaped ones, which have a lining of Iridium & Strontium 90)."

Hey Everyone!

So, last week on our mission trip to Windsor (in case you hadn't heard, Juarez got canceled due to violence) 2 or 3 (i'm not sure which) news crews and 2 news papers came to interview us. Here's the link to the channel 7 story.

Until We Meet Again...

Well, I'm off to Canada, Montana and then Chinese camp! This means that I probably won't be on here until mid-July. So I'm not being a blog neglecter, I'm just off learning Chinese and hiking and dancing with Barn-Boosters. I'll keep a composition notebook of letter you guys just like I did last year with Japan - in the meantime, I'll miss you! Take care of yourselves - no shenanagins. That means YOU, Kenz. :) Just kidding. I love you all!

I miss you all! How have your summers been so far? Is it still sinking in that it's summer, or are you out there wreaking havoc on your hometown? (for me, it's the latter).
