My summer reading is NOT happening. I don't freaking care any more. I gave myself plenty of time for the THREE books people had told me I needed to read. Now that it's more like 5 or 6, whatever. It's NOT happening! So I called the library. The long walk is checked out until September. It's also sold out at the local bookstore. Guns, Germs, and Steel is not only sold out there as well, and checked out of the library, there are NINE freaking holds on it. Can I get exempted from the assignment if there's no physical possibility of me completing it?
Maybe the teacher will tell me I should have started earlier in the summer. Oh, well, I would've, if I'd known! But whatever. I'm over it.

I thought we only had one...this sucks. Why didn't i hear about these freaking books??? But do the teachers REALLY care?
Rrgh. Now I'm on the hold list. Dumb. It was so not worth driving to that random Boulder library for. I find this incredibly frustrating. If the teachers knew what an ordeal this was, would they still assign it?
Only if they had cruel and black hearts...
You know, I talked to a girl who took the class last year, and she said she never even read "The Long Walk" - and they never once discussed it in class. I wonder if the teacher will even ask for our questions!
See, that annoys me. I don't mind summer reading so much if they actually use it. If it's not even used though, during the year, it really just makes me mad.
I know! Especially when they make us answer stupid essay questions...blah.
My brother didn't read any of the books and he did perfectly fine. I totally agree that the questions are ridiculous. Along w/ that stupid comic we have to draw for Brit Lit
