Oh. My. Freaking. Goggles.

Wow. Wow wow wow wow wow. I went to see Into the Woods at Boulder High tonight, and their show was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. Seriously, it was professional quality. Every single kid on that stage had a great voice, could carry a tune, and could act. The facility was incredible, the set was gorgeous, the lights and sound had a crew of about 20 people, and overall it was just ASTOUNDING. Can you tell I'm impressed? They sure put us to shame! It was almost enough to convince me to go to Boulder High. Almost.

Now of course, being the critical person that I am, there were two things that bothered me: First off, they cut "No one is alone" in half - and it's my favorite song in the show! So that was a disappointment. Second: after the curtain call, the director came on stage and gave a 15 minute speech during which she thanked everyone from her parents to the vocal directors to the guy who mows her front lawn. Okay, that's an exaggeration. But it still got annoying after awhile. I guess it wasn't technically part of the show though, so it doesn't really count.

Wow. I wish P2P had money for this kind of thing. It was so good!!!

Ok, no, you were not embellishing the curtain speech (more like a sermon). She DID thank everyone from her parents to her best friend to her roomate to random people in New York. And she made us applaude for all of them. It was more like 20 minutes i'd say. I started to forget what show I'd come to see.

That was amazing.
Except for her. Drew turned to me and was like,
"whoa, real theatre person. As in, she made everything about HER. She was amazing! (sarcastically) Why are there woods on the stage? What do those have to do with Nichole? What show did we come see again? I'm...kinda forgetting!!!"
Yeah.

That's funny :). You know, there's a reason they said "We never, ever do this..."
