I suggest you all check out this video, it's worth the time and effort. Wow. This is a reminder of how we should always take things in context. Oprah is so wrong here. And I also love how she thinks this is her idea. It's called a UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST church, hon. We were talking about this at church this week, in fact. How there's room at my table for "your god." There is only one God. And He is a jealous God. Not jealous of pathetic little YOU, though, my famous money-making friend. For there is NOTHING you have God could possibly want. He is jealous ABOUT you, meaning He doesn't want to share you with some worthless idol and let something bring you pain. What she did with the Bible is like what I do whenever Tom is talking- walk in at the wrong time and hear something that makes no sense whatsoever. Now if she knew what her pastor meant when he said that, she probably wouldn't have thought it was weird for Tom to try to turn someone on by blowing in their ear, or by commenting that ladies have larger pelvises.
Did that make sense?

Wow. Sometimes it disgusts me that so many people watch, let alone listen to, Oprah.
Just because Oprah's rich doesn't make her an authority on anything. Especially religion. Yeah, sure, maybe occasionally something intelligent slips out of her mouth, but it happens to everyone.
Oprah, it seems, knows nothing about God.
I think maybe she had a bad pastor... It's possible. I don't particularly like Oprah (in fact, I think her show is ridiculous), but I mean, I don't have anything against her saying what she believes. In fact, I agree with her ideas... In my opinion, I think religion should be more spiritual than just believing that doing stuff one way is the only way. I think, especially for Christians, saying that you don't need to believe in Jesus is stretching it, but little things like if your Catholic, and you don't go to Communion or whatever it's called (just some really important religious ceremony) doesn't mean you won't go to heaven. Then again, i'm not really Christian so I can't say that much.
