The State of the Union

I watched the State of the Union as I made dinner last night, and these are my thoughts:

1. So we're going to increase government spending, decrease government income and get rid of the national debt all at the same time? How's that going to work?

2. Stop shoving American democracy down other people's throats!

3. Yes, of course No Child Left Behind was a good idea! (Can you smell the sarcasm?)

4. Our government's problem is that it's forgotten the one and only responsibility of government: To ensure the welfare of it's citizens.

5. Our president makes me angry.

Not that I got annoyed or started yelling at the TV or anything...

OMG MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!! and he mentioned all these things he wanted to do which would have been great SEVEN YEARS AGO. Now that he only has 5 or so months left in office, of course he wants to cut back on CO2 emissions. IT'S CALLED THE KYOTO PROTOCOL!!!

It's annoying, I'll agree. But how can any one person actually do a good job running a country without God's help? I think that it's a pretty hard job, and until I've had even a small taste of it, I won't bite the president's head off.
Still...couldn't he bit a BIT smarter!

That reminds me of a Benjamin Franklin quote: "If a sparrow cannot fall without God's notice, is it possible that a great nation can rise without His aid?"
