Meh. Not feeling too spiffy tonight. The theatre company I work with took our competition piece up to Idaho Springs this weekend, to see how we would score. We did pretty well...you can ask Ginger, she saw it on Wednesday. It's an interesting show, as I'm sure she will agree. Unfortunately, the judges (rather, adjudicators...I suppose I'll use the formal term) didn't seem to share my viewpoint, and they disagreed with my opinions in several instances. The "adjudications" are open for general attendance. My two least favorite shows, they seemed to have only compliments for, and the ones I liked more, they just tore apart. It was wierd. The awards were screwy too. They have the "best" awards, and then an "all-state" award, which is pretty much like second place. One show got, essentially, first AND second place for the SAME thing!!! This happened TWICE. The show received these honors for costuming. It was a show taking place at the beach. They wore bathing suits. Oh how ingenius! I suppose it was an award for bravery-that they would go onstage in a bathing suit. But still...It was wierd. Oh well. I had fun.

Oh, I'm sorry you're feeling less than dynamic. Your show was brilliant, you especially, and I loved it, so don't take whatever those judges said to heart. We all know you're an amazing actress. Interesting awards...odd system. Anyway, which shows did you like?

Oh wow, I just read that post over, and it totally sounds like it was a horrible competition! But it really wasn't, I had a lot of fun, learned alot, saw friends, and enjoyed myself. Thank you though. Well, there was one (Ms. West actually said with careful but thorough editing she might consider doing it as a One Act at P2P our senior year) called Escanaba in Da Moonlight, and it was hilarious!!! It was really funny. My other favorite was called Brilliant Traces and it was a small show (one man and one woman) but it was really well done, really nice! Stephany Roscoe, last year's theater teacher, was there too! It was really interesting to see her, and she directed a show that was part of A Taste Of Shakespeare, from Longmont Theater Company. Haha, that was...interesting. Yeah, but it was really fun.
Well then, in that case, I'm glad you had fun! Tell me, why would Escanaba in Da Moonlight require so much editing? And do you have any idea why we would specifically do it in our senior year? Ms. West seems to have these things all planned out way in advance, and I don't know how she decides them.

Yes she does!!! Haha, wierd. Well, it would need five boys and possibly one girl, depending on the cuts, and apparently our senior year would work well...hmm...
Well...let's just say it's not the most appropriate one act ever written...it sure was funny though!! Hehe. :)
