Orchestra is Awful

Well, I just came from my orchestra concert. I play the violin, even though I don't want to. My parents make me. They also make me play in the school orchestra. Our conducter/director/teacher/jailkeeper will be known as J. I guess she's a nice person, but our personalities are complete opposites and almost everything she does drives me crazy.

She's making the orchestra play music that is much to easy for us and treating us like we are about three years old. She also stresses art and emotion and being professional and dynamics too much. She gets so involved in boring, emotionless stuff like a scale that you think she's going to cry. It's awful. She always dances around when we play or she plays; it's awful.

She's a total show-off. Rather than having the conducter conduct (gasp- what a revolutionary concept!), she decided that she would be the concert master. She can't get a concert of our own, so she tries to steal ours. Thanks a lot.

Our conducter, not concert master, has a select few favorites. She loves our four cellos. It's "listen to the cellos" and "the cellos are the beat here" and "this is the cello solo so shut up" and "you cellos are great" and "I'd like to feature our wonderful cellos" and the cellos this and the cellos that...

My violin teacher says that everyone in the Colorado music community regards her in the same category as like, Sadaam Hussein. Well, maybe it's not that bad, but the second I told her who our Orchestra conducter was, her face dropped.

Orchestra is a daily torture session in which I am mentally and physically tormented. I wish I could switch out of that class. At least the position of Orchestra director is cursed; we haven't had an Orchestra teacher last more than a year. I hope that doesn't change.
