Some of Starfield's lyrics I've heard lately are really profound and I think while we just sing along while multitasking it's easy to overlook their meaning. So I decided I'd go through some of them.
From the song "Revolution"
"When the world is at war
when the grace is gone
when the hungry lay dead
while the rich live on"
-->Well that's a little convicting. And we can brush it off and say that it doesn't really remind us of America. But think of third world countries and stuff. I bet that's a disturbingly accurate depiction of some places. Yikes.
From the song "Reign In Us"
"You thought of us before the world began to breathe
You knew our names before they came to be
You saw the very day we'd fall away from you
And how desperately we'd need to be redeemed"
-->I just like that. It's sooo cool. The last line does a great job of eliminating the concept that we can do anything on our own, which I like. Cause we can't! Seriously, what on earth does anyone possibly think they could do to reconcile themselves with the Perfect God? No matter what we do, our good works have no capability to span the leap our sin creates. And this verse illustrates that really well.
So that's just me blathering on some...by myself...alone...on this blog...alone...
If you haven't picked up yet, I'm hinting at something.
Post thoughts!!!

I think that first one, revolution, is talking exactly about America. Its so easy for us over here (with all we have) to turn a blind eye, or just look at things as how they relate to us living in our tiny box. Did you know that if you have food, clothing, shelter, and a car, you are wealthier than like, 95% of the world? Thats really somthing. I cant tell you how many times i hear people complain about how poor they are, broke, deprived, etc. I think our entire country needs a wake up call, just to see how wealthy we really are. People just dont put it into context, dont look at the bigger picture. We have SO MUCH. And we take it for granted.

Totally! There's another verse I didn't put up, but it's from one called "I Will Go" and it goes:
Let me not be blind with privilege
Give me eyes to see the pain
Let the blessings You've poured out on me
Not be spent on me in vain
Let this life be used for change!
That is just...wow, like, the cry of my heart. "Blind with privilege" is such a cool phrase because I think that is in essence the heart of what makes America, so...bad. You know? Not that America is bad, but when it is, this is why. Yeah.
Oh gosh, yeah. I totally know what you mean. We're so so blessed here. And that's a good thing...when you reach out and "spread the love". it's kind of like in preschool when they teach you to share...
