The lovely but fickle Ms. Westerfield has changed her mind about musicals again. I talked to her today, and she told me that these are her plans now:
Sophomore year: 99% sure we're doing Music Man
Junior year: Bye Bye Birdie
Senior year: Pippin?
What do you think?
And guess what? As a play sometime in the future (junior year, I think), she said we might be doing 12 angry jurors! (Not men - can't have an all-guys play.) Interesting...

I'm curious - what do you dislike about the set up? (Honestly I agree with you - I wish we were doing Pippin, then Music Man, then Jekyll/Hyde, but I guess that's not happening. >.<)
I don't understand why we do so many like famous big musicals. Well, I guess it's just sound of music and music man. I love them, but it'd be kind of nice to do a musical other than the ones people think of when you hear musical! You know?
I wish we could fit more in! But I have to say I'm actually a fan of bye bye birdie. Some of the music is kinda dumb, but it's a cute story, and...I'm just looking forward to something where teenagers are actually supposed to act like teenagers.
That's probably the one thing Peak to Peak is best at: robbing us of our adolescence. I'm a total fan of "preparation" and everything, but the PSAT as a freshman sort of screams that the normal freshmen things we do aren't important. They may not be ACADEMICALLY valued, sure, but they're still a very vital part of who we are and what we'll become.

Well I mean Bye Bye Birdie i really like and well i agree with that...But Pippen I think we should do next year...and Music Man never sorry but i just dont think it would flow well with Sound of music one year and then Music man right after...and well i just really have mixed thoughts on it...

Hmm... Well, I really looking forward to Jekyll/Hyde (sp?) but I don't mind the Music Man that much. I mean, as a person that in general has no clue about musicals, it's nice to watch something you're actually vaguely familiar with. Sometimes it's just weird watching ppl do these random songs and scenes and you don't realy know what's going on, and you don't know the songs, so if (no offense to any of you, cuz i'm not talking about you guys) but if anyone sings a song really bad you're not completely put off the entire performance cuz you know how it's supposed to be like.

what about My Fair Lady! That would be amazing!!
My fair lady's a great idea - that would be fun. Guys and Dolls is a great musical and all, but it's got a million parts for guys, and two parts for girls - not so great. You know what I think we should do over the summer? YAGM Charlie Brown! It's a small cast, doesn't really require much of a set, and it's such a fun musical!
